Shot on location during our treasure hunt. If you have a keen eye, then you will find that I am a brand ambassador for two major sports apparel brands — Nike and Adidas.
Build toy aeroplanes and have loads of fun doing it. Our team won the prize for the “best designed aeroplane!” Seen in the picture (from left to right) are Palvinder, myself, Vidyadhar, Vishwanath, Sachin, and Maruteesh in the front row, and Sonika, Vivek, and Sanjay in the back row. Of course, with the three aeroplanes […]
Our trip to Lonavala was all about team-building. In fact, the whole outing was termed as the “Personal Growth Lab.” The outdoor group activities were planned by an organization called High Places and included: A trek to Duke’s Nose A treasure hunt and An assault course The trek to Duke’s Nose was quite good. Duke’s […]
From Lonavala. And what an amazing three days we had in Lonavala. I was so busy putting out that MBA admissions article the other day that I totally forgot to mention about this trip. I apologize for the lack of articles over the weekend. Expect to read some real nice ones very soon. I promise […]
Here’s what you absolutely must do this weekend. Start at 07:00 IST on a Saturday morning for a one-day trip to Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, Balmuri Falls, and Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) dam. That’s exactly what Avinash, Shruthi, and I did this Saturday. And what a fun trip it turned out to be. None of us […]
It’s not everyday that you wake up at 05:00 and discover this in your e-mail: “We have issued a Credit Note on Kingfisher Airlines. This credit note can be used for booking on any Kingfisher Airlines flight and is valid for 1 year from date of issue. Kindly find details below:” Now, a credit note […]

I managed to do it again! I disappeared for a while last week. I had to go to Mumbai on some personal work. This time around, I chose to fly with “The King of Good Times” – KingFisher Airlines. Here’s what I think. (Breaking convention, the verdict comes before the justification.) Verdict: KingFisher is certainly […]
While cleaning my room yesterday I came across a few old photo CDs. The cleaning stopped because curiosity got the better of me. It was a nostalgic couple of hours that I spent looking at the photographs. The ones below are from the time I spent in New Zealand. If you love adventure then New […]
Here’s a 16-photo whirlwind tour of my recent trek from Kodaikanal to Top Station. The photos are in chronological order.
At the end of a strenuous three-day sixty-kilometre trek through wild terrain, our group of thirteen experienced bliss: steaming cups of deliciously flavored elaichi tea and hot masala omlettes. Twenty-six cups of tea and sixteen omlettes. The omlettes disappeared even before I could take out my camera.
Traveling to Mumbai gave me an opportunity to visit one of my favorite restaurants, Bombay Blue. I stayed in Andheri (West) and luckily a Bombay Blue restaurant was located just a short walk away from my hotel. They serve yummy Mexican food – a favorite cusine, only second to South Indian meals. Here’s a list […]
If you are planning your vacations through Leisure Destinations, think again. In fact, don’t do it – if you value your money and time, that is. We had a very bad experience with this travel shop, on our recent trip to Kodaikanal. The shop has a tie-up with one “Goldan Parks Inn” – and no, […]
In Kodaikanal, the best way to satisfy your hunger pangs is to eat the variety of snacks being served on the roadside. A stroll near the lake would find you devouring all of the following: fresh carrot laced with masala, an exotic mixture of boiled ground nuts, corn, onion, carrot, cabbage, and masala, varieties of […]
In Kodaikanal, you can indulge yourself to a serene bicycle ride around the lake. Or, if you are adventurous then you can cycle over to many of the vistas that Kodaikanal has to offer. The rent is quite cheap – 10 bucks an hour per cycle. There aren’t any geared bicycles though. Avinash, who also […]
Nature in it’s splendid glory at Kodaikanal. The above photos were taken near Guna Caves – a place where many people are supposed to have died trying to cheat Nature. Scenes from Bryant Park, a beautiful place to spend your afternoon.
Public Service Ad from Nirvana Adventures, Kamshet: Hi All. The rain clouds have spent themselves and the south west monsoon winds have waned. Indian festivals mark the changing of the seasons and Navratri (the prelude to the Dushera festival which symbolizes the struggle between the forces of good and evil, and the eventual victory of […]
In and around Mantraalaya: Because of an early start, we managed to have a stress-free darshan at the temple. Members of the male gender are required to remove their shirts and vests before entering the inner portion of the temple – a practice that I have never been able to comprehend. Defies logic! How does […]
From Bangalore to Mantraalaya: Mantraalaya is geographically located in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, about 425 km North-East of Bangalore. The route we (or rather the KSRTC bus) followed was: Bangalore –> Chickballapur –> Anantapura –> Gooty –> Adoni –> Mantraalaya. We had booked tickets on a KSRTC super-deluxe Mayura bus. The bus departed from the […]
