Said Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer:

I think these things [social networks] are going to have some legs, and yet there’s a faddishness, a faddish nature about anything that basically appeals to younger people. There can’t be any more deep technology in Facebook than what dozens of people could write in a couple of years. That’s for sure.

I’ve never really been a big fan of social networking. I must have had the worst profile on Orkut; my closest friends — in a show of strength — blackmailed me into accepting their friend requests. A few days later, I had my revenge when I happily deleted my Orkut profile. But I’ve seen first-hand the fanaticism people have towards Orkut though I’ve never understood why.

But Facebook expecting a valuation of $15 billion on [expected] revenues of $150 million, that’s financial optimism at its peak.

Next, can someone tell me how I can delete the profile/account that I had created on a job site many many many years ago? And what do you think of this incentive for a job change?

  1. Ive seen company’s marketting themselves..in career fairs & one thing they concentrate on is their benefits, I believed that this was lame marketing strategy just to attract attention of more employees. Sincerely If people are sane. then they wud just not look at the pay packages medical benefits, instead look on job satisfaction & salary satisfaction..Such lame marketing strategies have been used by Big MNC’s in Singapore..
