Unless you know who Simon Singh is, you would probably think of “Big Bang” as having something to do with a wild orgy. Thankfully, it’s a book about the origins of the Universe. “Big Bang” is my book-of-the-month for January. I picked it up at Sapna Book House, Jayanagar at a cost of five-hundred rupees. I have never read any of the author’s other books (The Code Book, Fermat’s Last Theorem etc.), although I have been a subscriber to his newsletter from a long time. I love the simple, yet thought provoking puzzles that he publishes in the newsletter. |
I have just started reading the book. Watch this space for a review soon. |
If you are free try and solve this puzzle from the last newsletter:
“Use the basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to construct the answer 24 by using all the numbers 1, 3, 4 and 6.”
