The work that I have been doing during my internship has taught me a lot. If you remember, last year, I really couldn’t figure out the logic behind those umpteen business frameworks. I had vented my frustrations here and here. I would scream the moment I saw a new framework. Turns out I was looking at them the wrong way. Completely. My classmate Ramesh was right in saying “…they give a way to think n approach ur problems…very well appreciated by top mgmt whn u make a presentation…”
Now that I have worked on real business projects, I understand the logic behind these frameworks. Applied correctly, they really simplify things for your audience (especially if it comprises of senior management). I have applied a couple of frameworks to put across a business case and have found them to work like a charm. It’s been a terrific learning experience.
One of these days, you just might come across a framework invented by me.
Moral of the story: While theory is great, practise puts it in perspective.
