Seventymm is a name you might not have heard about. It’s a new company in Bangalore with an interesting service – online movie rentals! Seventymm offers over 10,000 movie titles – on high quality DVD/VCD media and searchable online – for your viewing pleasure. The movies are delivered to your doorstep and even picked-up after you are done watching them. There’s no late fee and no due date. This is how the system works.

What do you have to do?
You need to pick a membership plan and a login/password. You could go for the Basic Plan which costs INR 199 a month and has a cap of 4 movies per month. Or else, choose the Unlimited Plan which costs INR 549 a month and has no limit on the number of movies per month. These prices are applicable up to 30th May 2006. Beyond that the rates move up 50 rupees to INR 249 and INR 599 per month respectively. However, you need to pay a registration fee of INR 499 and a refundable deposit of INR 2000. (I think this is where the plan goes wrong.)
Would you pay over 2500 rupees for this service? I wouldn’t.

Hi Vinaya,
Nice blog…
The service looks very usefull…
Except for the high registration fees and the
refundable advance…. which you have to pay…
Keep the blogs flowing.
Have a great day.
Regards,
Girish
I read about it the TOI last week and browsed thru their site too. They are trying to replicate Netflix but I think the service is too expensive compared to the neighboorhood video stores and I dont think they have a very wide variety of titles right now.
Dear Raj,
I quite disagree with you. I am a member of seventymm.com and i think they are doing a great job. for Rs.549/- you can order as many DVD’s a month… keep them for as long as you want and you dont have to pay any late fee!! they drop and pick up the movies from the door step. Also over the months the movie collection has increased considarably….. moreover i refered a few friends of mine to the service and got a resonable concession on my plan …. i am really impressed with the service and i think they are here to stay
)
Hi vinaya
I agree its expensive man…….
Hi, I would not suggest anyone to go in for the service peovided by them. They are not the kind of company which will stick to the promise that they make while you register with them. I became a member and still regret the day i did. They say that they have a huge collection of movies and when u want to rent it they wud keep saying its in circulation. As their service is time bound that in so many months u have to see so many movies else it lapses. So you land up seeign moves just for the heck of it not what you really wana see.
I would suggest that all the registered guests and people who want to se this service should really think of it if you want to waiste your money pls go and register else stay away and tell others also to stay away. Im sure if u ask more than 90% of the registered users will feel the same as i do just that hey have not got a area to display their grevience
Take care
Aasim
