Thanks for visiting Capital Advisor. I frequently update this blog to cover various topics on personal finance such as investment strategies, financial products that you should buy and ones that you really should stay away from, financial calculators, emerging themes such as early retirement and financial independence, and much more. The series of events that kept me away from blogging last week made me realize how much blogging means to me. Running a blog sometimes takes a life of its own, and like all other things in life, needs to be prioritized.

In retrospect, I feel that the greatest advantage blogging has to offer is the process of self-discovery. It’s a remarkable way to realize stuff about yourself. It’s also an excellent opportunity to make new friends and to build a contact network. There is a whole world out there just waiting to be discovered.

Regular readers of this blog would have observed one thing: I have shied from writing anything technical even though I have been in the software development field for about four years. The reason is simple. My experience has been on developing application software for EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer at the Point Of Sale) systems for banking institutions world-wide. Being a niche industry, I doubted whether people would be interested in reading about it. Probably, it is now the right time to start documenting my experiences.

Let me know your thoughts.

Yeah, even I felt like I was missing something when I couldn’t blog for three days last week. I don’t write techinical stuff because nobody wants to read it and even I don’t feel like writing about it but work related experiences should be interesting. I just hope your company doesn’t have a policy against that.
