Goutham woke up to a dream today — to eat at Hotel Ballal Residency. God knows where he got the information that Ballal Residency served authentic Mysore style meals. Armed with a location print-out and in eager anticipation, myself, Goutham and Shruthi set off on this mission. We located the place without too much difficulty. These were our initial reactions:

Goutham: “I feel like I am on top of the world!”
Shruthi: “I feel like a princess!”
Myself: “Wow! Mysore style meals!”

Our reactions upon seeing the menu:

Goutham: “Special Madras Meals? I thought Ballal was a Mysore based family.”
Shruthi: “Why did I ever come with these idiots?”
Myself: “Goutham!!! Aache baaro nodkotini magane.”

And, at the end of the meal:

Goutham: “Yahooooo! Can I buy a pillow here?”
Shruthi: “Why did I ever come with these idiots?”
Myself: “Wow! Awesome meals.”

To be honest, the food was really top-notch. The service was excellent. Moreover, a bottle of mineral water costs INR 12/-. Heartily recommended.

Just had this chat exchange with Goutham:

Goutham: frankly.. how was the lunch today ?
Vinaya: hang on mate. just about to blog it
Goutham: for me it was amazing...
Goutham: just as good as a toast of vodka

Now that’s a satisfied man with a fulfilled dream.
