Floods in Mumbai, July 27, 2005

Mumbai was hit with almost 995 mm of rainfall over a period of 24 hours. The airport, the railway station, and the roads were innundated. The Western Express Highway was jammed for kilometers. School children and office goers had to spend the night onsite. Amazingly some minister blamed the rain and not Mumbai’s infrastructure for this sorry state of affairs. No wonder he is a minister.

Wish: I wish a deluge would somehow make its way to the famed Airport Road in Bangalore and wash away that pathetic excuse for a flyover. Atleast we would have a smoother flow of traffic.
